The 4th American Conference on Human Vibration will be held in the Hilton Hartford. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hilton Hartford for attendees of the conference. When you are making a reservation directly to the Hilton Hartford, please mention that you are attending this conference to receive the discounted rate.
Room rates at the conference hotel, the Hilton Hartford, are $135 for a room with a king bed or $165 for a slightly larger room with a king bed on the Club Floor and are available up until May 12, 2012. Also, if enough rooms are filled in the hotel, then internet access in the rooms will be complementary for all conference guests. Wireless internet access in the conference facilities will be complementary, regardless.
When booking your hotel room, please use ACHV as the Group/Convention Code in the hotel registration page, or use following Hilton's special hotel room reservation page for this conference. These hotel rates should also be available for two nights before and two nights after the dates of the conference.

Transportation from New York City Area
For those who wish to travel from the New York City area, the following travel suggestions to Hartford, CT, are offered for your convenience for flights in and out of John F. Kennedy (JFK), LaGuardia (LGA), or Newark Liberty (EWR) Airports:
From JFK, LGA, or EWR Airports
- Connecticut Limo offers direct access from the JFK, LaGuardia, or Newark airports to Hartford, and a reservation should be made in advance.
- The bus service (from JFK or LGA, New York Airport Service, or NYC Airporter, from EWR, Newark Airport Express) between the airports and the Grand Central Terminal (GCT) or the Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT) can be quicker and cheaper than the subway.
Train
- For direct rail service via the MTA Metro-North Railroad New Haven Line from the Grand Central Terminal to New Haven or Waterbury, CT.
A round trip bus ticket (Peter Pan Bus Lines or megabus) can be purchased from the train station in New Haven to Hartford.
For Waterbury, a taxi is needed to get to the bus station from the train station and the round trip bus ticket from Waterbury to Hartford.
Bus
- For direct bus service from the Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT) to Hartford, CT, (via Peter Pan Bus Lines or Greyhound Lines), a round trip ticket is about $60. Depending on the purchase, ticket price may vary.
Several other bus companies offer inexpensive bus service but do not depart from PABT.

For those who wish to travel from the Boston area, the following travel suggestions to Hartford, CT, are offered for your convenience for flights in and out of the Boston Logan Airport (BOS):
From Logan Airport
- The On-Airport Shuttle provides free service between airline terminals and the Airport Station on the MBTA Blue Line subway. MBTA Silver Line route SL1 provides bus service between the South Station and airport terminals. Or, taxi can be taken from Logan airport to get around in Boston.
Bus
- Greyhound Lines or Peter Pan Bus Lines provide the bus service from the South Station. Depending on the schedule, express bus from Boston to Hartford is available. Also, the deals and discounts are available in their websites.
Train
- The Amtrak Northeast Regional line can go from Boston South Station to Hartford Union Station, but with stops between such as in Springfield, MA or New Haven, CT first. Amtrak trains may have Wi-Fi, and ticket price can be vary.
Limo
- Logan Car Service, Premier Limo, or others offer limousine service from the Logan airport to Hartford, CT. Please contact them for a quote in advance.
Rent-a-Car
- Logan airport has many different rental car services available.
In Downtown Hartford
Most of the public transportation will arrive at Union Station in Hartford and the distance from the station to the Hartford Hilton is about 10-15 walking minutes or less than 5 taxi-ride minutes. In addition, the traveler might use the Hartford Star Shuttle bus, which is free of charge.
